Cyclone Eloise.
Continuous rainfall.
Gratitude for having a roof over my head.
While I was keeping cosy and dry indoors, I was blissfully unaware of the impact the excessive rain was having on our off-the-grid water system.
It was only when turning on the tap to wash my hands that I noticed the water was brown. The muddy water had come from the borehole as a result of the excess rain.
Thankfully, after much hard work and expert advice we were able to correct it. Now, more than ever, I am grateful to have clean running water.
When was the last time you noticed the impact nature had on your daily life?
Do you stop to admire the butterflies when they flutter by? Or the softness of the white snow? Do you stop to admire the beauty nature brings?
We are connected to nature and are impacted by it. Yet, we continue to live in our silos where we carry on with our lives and are oblivious of the change around us.
Are you connected to that change, are you tuned in? Are you present enough to notice your environment?
Now that you are paying attention, what do you see? What do you notice that is new? How does this impact your life? Can you see the beauty and goodness in it, even if it’s not beautiful?
Will it take a Cyclone for you to become present and aware of all that is around you? Will it help you to pay attention to right here, right now?
Being aware of nature helps you ground. It enables you to slow down and admire the beauty around you.
By seeing the beauty of nature, you are able to connect to your own inner beauty within. This is done by doing the same. Slowing down, connecting to yourself – and there, amongst the darkness and judgement lies your own inner beauty. Are you brave enough to let it shine?
You are beautiful!
