May the 4th be with you!
If you are a Star Wars fan you will know what I am talking about. My
cousin got married over the weekend. They waited 2 years for the 4th
of May to be on a Saturday as they are huge Star Wars fans and wanted
to get married on that specific date. They had great fun, with
lightsabers and all, despite the various unplanned stress and challenges
before their wedding day.
It’s May.
Five months into the year and the motivation for your New Year’s
resolutions has dwindled quite significantly. Regardless of what is it
is: fitness, starting a new business, weight loss or insert new Year’s
resolution here – Remember why you started.
What was the original reason for having your New Years resolution or goal in the 1st
place? What was the driving force behind your motivation? As life
happens, circumstances change, is that still something that you want to
achieve? Or are you after the emotion that that ‘thing’ would bring you?
Review.
When you look at why you set the goal in the first place, you will be
able to determine if it is still appropriate for you. If the purpose of
your goal was to generate a specific emotion is there something else you
can do to create that emotion?
Do you need someone to hold you accountable? Or are you needing support
to help you overcome those stumbling blocks of self-sabotage? I can
help.
