Black, white or grey?
There is good and bad in everything, or is there?
If you are a considerate person, is that a good or a bad trait?
Good that you are accommodating to other people. It’s bad if you don’t have healthy boundaries, you can become depleted and resentful.
There are two sides to it.
It is your definition or learnt programming that defines what is good or bad, likeable or dis-likeable.
“Nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so” – Shakespeare
Try it for yourself:
- Make a list of what you don’t like about yourself and next to each one, note how this can be something that is ‘good’ or serves you or others in some way.
- Equally, make a list of what you do like about yourself and note next to each one how this can be ‘negative’ or ‘bad’.
Being brave enough to take part in this exercise, may create the perspective that balance is needed. That there is yin with yang and yang with yin.
Like the Panda bear, who is a combination of darkness (black) and light (white). You wouldn’t want just the white parts of the Panda as their eyes and arms would be missing. Both are required to be complete.
What if, you stopped judging and dividing everything and accepted all of you. Loving every bit of you equally, without judging?
What if things just were – without a label of good or bad.
How would your life be different?
