Decisions, decisions!
They say we make very few BIG decisions in our life and it is important to make the right one.
Making BIG life changing decisions is daunting in itself as you may worry about making the wrong decision. But the truth is, you already know what the right decision is for you (if you listen to whispers of your own heart and block out the noise). That decision is made with the information you have at the time. In that present moment that is the right decision for you.
“It is easy to be wise after the event” – Arthur Doyle in Sherlock Holmes.
Hindsight is reflecting back on an event or decision with new information. Judging yourself with the new information is not fair or helpful. Whilst you can use the new information and life experience to help you make different decisions in future, having regrets is not. It is just horrible self-attack.
As times moves on, you change, your values, beliefs, and desires in life also change. You are a different person today than you were yesterday. And judging the old you with new information doesn’t work. It just makes you unhappy.
Granted, there will be times when you wish that you had made a different decision but you do have the power to make another decision going forward. This is part of how we autocorrect.
Be brave, make that decision. It will be right for you right now.
Let go of the judgment. Live your life and when you are unhappy, make a different decision.
It is OK to change your mind because what worked for you yesterday may no longer be right for you today.
