Mesmerized by the sound of the handpan a year ago, it has fascinated me ever since. The grounding peaceful sound it makes is very relaxing.
In recent months, I have grown more fond of the handpan. I wanted to play it to experience what it feels like.
It is a relatively new instrument as it was only formally invented in 2001. Like other drums, it has a hole at the bottom and is best played on your lap or using a stand.
Longing to literally feel the music, I put it out there that I wanted to play the handpan. It formed part of my daily affirmations and visualisations.
Three months later it came into fruition!
Following my intuition to attend a weekend event, I signed up despite there being no handpan artist on the programme at the time. Only to discover that a handpan duo (called Mosh) would be performing.
Shortly after approaching the duo, I found myself playing the handpan. It is a very intuitive instrument. Although you are able to learn how to play, it is more effective to feel the music and go with what you are experiencing.
“If you can dream it, you can do it” ~ Walt Disney
What do you dream of?
Have you set your intention? Have you put it out there?
Do you focus on your dream?
When you visualise your dream, what does it feel like in your body? Where do you feel it in your body? What clothes are you wearing when you visualise your dream? What can you smell as you visualise it?
Embody the complete visceral experience.
Sometimes when you share your dreams with other people, they have their own fear and doubt and try to project it onto you. Be aware of the influence that may have on you.
Walt Disney is right, if you can imagine it, it can happen. You just need to allow it. Do not focus on the how. Keep visualising. Keep trusting. Keep believing. It will happen.
