A friend advised that she was not able to spot me in the 300-odd photos of the Secret Sunset event that I attend two weeks ago.
The theme was Halloween so I was wearing a mask covering my eyes and nose.
What kind of mask do you wear? Do you have different masks depending on the occasion?
Your mask may not be physical.
It could be a people-pleaser mask. Or a happy-face mask to hide your true emotions. It could be your professional-work mask pretending that you love your job when you really don’t. There are many different types of masks.
Are you still connected to the authentic you behind the mask? Or are you on auto-pilot that you are disconnected from your inner being?
Depending on the circumstances, masks can be appropriate for various reasons.
Masks only become ‘bad’ when you become separated from your true self. Hiding your best bits. The true, authentic you.
Despite what you may think, the real authentic you is absolutely perfect!
Do you allow yourself to check-in with your inner being? Do you make time to ground and spend time with your authentic self, regardless of how he or she is feeling? Do you feel connected to the true version of yourself?
Connecting can be done in various ways depending on your mood. It could be through self-care and having that much needed candle-lit bath or meditation or being still or doing some exercise.
How do you connect to your true self?
