How do you find your home? Not the building you call home but you. Your inner being, your truth, your authentic self. Perhaps that is why they say home is where the heart is.
On the journey of uncovering your authentic self, you will encounter many tools that will help you return home.
You will experience resistance. Fear will try to intervene but as you push through the resistance invite fear to join you along your journey.
Brené Brown so eloquently puts it: “You will always find evidence that you are not enough and that you don’t belong. Your worth and belonging are within you and not negotiable with other people. If you do negotiate your worth and belonging, you will lose yourself.”
As your worth and belonging are within you, so too, is your purpose. It is impossible for someone outside of yourself to know what is best for you. Only you know what is best for you in the moment.
People will come into your life that will help and guide you back to yourself. They may suggest various techniques that have worked for them. They are not you, so all they can do is offer their own experience and knowledge. Your intuition is never wrong, trust it!
There will also be times that there is so much noise around and within you that you are not able to hear the whispers of your heart. Allow your intuition to guide you to what technique will help you return to stillness.
Don’t limit yourself, you may find that a combination of techniques will help. For example breathing exercises, journalling, physical exercise, talk-therapy, meditation and yoga.
As you walk through life, know what all you really need is already within you. The people that will help you to remember who you are, will cross your path if you are open to them.
You are where you are meant to be right now. Keep going. Regardless of which road you chose and which technique you use, your road will lead you home.
